BMW M enthusiasts can look forward to an exhilarating year as the automaker prepares to introduce a range of new and updated models in 2024.
In a recent sales release, BMW hinted at a busy year ahead with an “upcoming model revision” for the M2, M3, and M4. Additionally, the announcement revealed the imminent arrival of a “new edition” of the BMW M5, signaling a refresh for the high-performance sedan. Notably, the M5 will be accompanied by a Touring variant, designed to broaden the appeal and reach new target groups. Electric vehicle enthusiasts can also anticipate the i5 M60 xDrive Touring as part of the lineup.
Among the exciting developments, the introduction of special editions will be a highlight in 2024. The much-anticipated M4 CS is set to embody “pure racing passion” with enhanced engine power and optimized weight. Spotted in testing last fall, the M4 CS is expected to follow the footsteps of the M3 CS, featuring an upgraded twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six engine producing 543 hp (405 kW / 550 PS) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque.
In addition to the future product lineup, BMW M reported record sales exceeding 200,000 units, marking a significant milestone for the performance brand. The company delivered 202,530 vehicles in the previous year, representing a remarkable 14.3% increase compared to 2022. Strong demand was noted for the M3, recognized as the “world’s best-selling high-performance sports car,” along with the popularity of the M2 and M4.
The United States retained its position as BMW M’s most important market, followed by Germany in second place, and the United Kingdom rounding out the podium. As BMW M enthusiasts eagerly await the unveiling of the upcoming models and special editions, the record sales and diverse product offerings reflect the brand’s enduring appeal in the high-performance automotive segment.
