Perfectly timed for Valentine’s Day, Chopard has introduced a captivating scarlet-red version of its Happy Oval Sport, adorned with the timeless symbols of love: diamonds. The recycled steel and ethical rose gold case, fashioned in an oval or egg shape, symbolizes both shelter and emergence—an expanse of possibilities where future transformations take root.
The red mother-of-pearl dial, featuring rose gold hour markers, is animated by seven dancing diamonds, encapsulating a poetic elegance. The golden crown, embellished with a ruby, provides a touch of opulence, with options for a diamond-set or polished gold bezel. The watch houses Chopard’s automatic 09.01-C three-hand movement, displayed through a crystal case back, and is complemented by a glossy red alligator leather strap.
As the Chinese New Year heralds the Year of the Dragon, Chopard commemorates the occasion with the L.U.C XP Urushi Year of the Dragon. Crafted as a work of art, the dial showcases a dragon on Urushi lacquer, utilizing gold powder and mother-of-pearl inlays.
Meticulously handcrafted in Japan by a renowned artisan specializing in the Maki-e technique, this marks the 12th consecutive year that Chopard has unveiled watches with Urushi dials, upholding the time-honored traditions of Chinese New Year. Depicting a dragon completes the 12-year cycle of Chinese zodiac symbols, initiated with a snake in 2013. The slim 6.8mm high, 39.5mm watch is forged from ethical 18ct rose gold, housing an L.U.C 96.17-L two-hand movement with a 22ct gold micro rotor and twin barrels, delivering a power reserve of 65 hours. Limited to just 88 pieces, it is elegantly worn on a black leather strap.
