Coastguard and lifeboat teams are conducting a search in a Highland sea loch following reports of a capsized yacht. A comprehensive search operation, involving a coastguard helicopter, local coastguard teams, and Lochinver RNLI lifeboat, has been underway in Loch Inver and its shoreline near the village of Lochinver in Sutherland. The HM Coastguard has completed an extensive search, and efforts are being assessed to determine the next steps.
Coastguard teams from Lochinver, Achiltibuie, and Ullapool have actively participated in the operation. A police spokesperson stated, “Around 12.30 on Saturday, we were made aware of a capsized yacht at Strathan Bay, Lochinver. Emergency services attended, including HM Coastguard and RNLI. Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
