BMW of North America has reported robust sales results for the fourth quarter of 2023 and the full year, setting new records for both periods. The BMW brand saw U.S. sales reach 107,881 vehicles in Q4 2023, marking a 6% increase from the same period in 2022. The full-year 2023 recorded a 9% growth, with a total of 362,244 vehicles sold, setting a new annual record.
In the electric vehicle (EV) segment, BMW introduced the first-ever BMW i5 in November, contributing to their existing electric lineup that includes the BMW i4, BMW i7, and BMW iX. Q4 2023 witnessed a significant surge in EV sales, with 14,374 battery electric vehicles sold, reflecting a 65.4% increase over Q4 2022. The full year 2023 saw 45,417 EV sales, constituting 12.5% of total sales for the year. Additionally, plug-in hybrid electric vehicle sales amounted to 25,318 units in 2023, bringing the total number of electrified vehicles sold to 70,735, representing 19.5% of total sales.
