By 2024, the iPhone will take a back seat in Apple’s wearables business, with the Vision Pro, Watch, and AirPods getting more attention.
Apple is said to be gearing up for a major update to its wearables lineup next year, with a focus on Apple AirPods, watches, and Vision Pro headphones, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. It’s worth noting that changes to the so-called iPhone 16 series are expected to be minimal, with updates largely limited to cosmetic changes. Apple reportedly intends to maintain design continuity across its upcoming iPhone 16 models, with the main change being a larger screen size on the Pro version.
Non-Pro iPhone models are expected to feature the action buttons introduced in the current Pro version. In addition, Apple will add a dedicated video recording button to the iPhone 16 series.
In 2024, the iPhone will take a back seat in Apple’s wearables business, with the Vision Pro, Watch, and AirPods receiving more attention. Apple is gearing up for a busy 2024, but things are a bit tricky. The Bloomberg report notes that while the iPhone has been at the center of the company’s product strategy for 15 years, the focus next year will be on … other things.
New health features, new versions of the Apple Watch line?
The report also states that the 2024 Apple Watch lineup could include a redesigned version and new health features. Apple has been focusing on developing features such as hypertension and sleep apnea detection, which will be a prominent aspect of the next-generation Apple Watch.
Of course, the iPhone is expected to receive an upgrade next year to maintain its importance as Apple’s primary source of revenue. However, significant changes are yet to come. The design of the iPhone 15 will continue, and the screen size of the Pro model will increase. Lower-end models will include an action button, and a new dedicated video capture button is in development.
