Straand has closed a $2.6 million funding round led by the Harvey Family Office and Unilever Ventures. The round brings the scalp care brand’s total funding to $4.6 million.
Straand hopes to triple sales by fiscal year 2024, according to a report published by Beauty Independent, and has secured shelf space in Sephora stores in Australia, Southeast Asia and the UK. In the US, it is now sold at Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie and Amazon.
The brand will use the money to fuel international expansion. Co-founder Sarah Hamilton told Beauty Independent, “I think there’s confidence in the space and the brand. A lot of what we’ve spent the initial money on is creating a brand that allows people to not have a taboo around scalp issues. It tells me that there’s a massive interest in beauty, which I think is great, and a massive interest in brands that are getting early retail support.”
