MARSHALL, Michigan – Downtown Marshall is gearing up for the return of its Ice, Wine, Beer and Blues Fest in February 2024.
On Friday, February 2 and Saturday, February 3, residents will have the opportunity to stroll the streets of downtown Marshall and enjoy food, drink, music and art.
Residents can watch master sculptor John Merucci and his team carve live ice sculptures featuring imagery from science fiction media to reflect the festival’s “sci-fi” theme.
On Friday, downtown businesses will open their doors from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for beer and wine tastings. After purchasing a wristband, attendees will receive a 2-ounce pour of wine or beer and appetizers from local restaurants.
On Saturday, the Franke Center for the Arts will host a live blues concert featuring Ann Arbor native Laith Al-Saadi. Al-Saadi was featured on the Season 10 finale of “The Voice” for his guitar playing and singing.
“Ice, Wine, Beer and Blues seems to be one of those events that everyone loves,” Franke Center Executive Director Jacob Gates said in a statement. “The ice sculptures are always amazing, and there’s just something special about everyone coming out and having fun together on a cold February night.”
Organizers said more than 500 people attended last year’s festival, and the event is a fundraiser to benefit the Franke Center for the Arts.
