Australian winemaker De Bortoli Wines has announced the addition of three new sparkling wines to its portfolio: the Este Cuvée, the De Bortoli Sparkling Pinot Noir and the Nebbiolo Fizz.
Reflecting the distinctive characteristics of the Yarra Valley, the sparkling trio has been created to capture the sophistication of the region and reflect its finesse and fruit-driven excellence.
Made from a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Meunier, the Este Cuvée has an average age of five years and spans 13 vintages from 2010 to 2022. The Este Cuvée is described as having “elements of Chardonnay, Pinot and yeasty aromas” that result in “beautiful balance and softness.”
De Bortoli Sparkling Pinot Noir, pale blush in color with a super-fine perlage, is made from fruit selected from low-yielding mature vines and fermented separately on fine lees for five months before undergoing secondary fermentation. The blend is then created with a blend of vintages that reflect the true essence of the region.
Finally, the Nebbiolo Fizz, pale pink in color, is a refreshing sparkling wine with a delicate effervescence and blanc de noir ambience.
“Everyone expects a full-bodied red from a Nebbiolo, but this is a delicious sparkling wine with the slightest hint of pink. Really a very interesting style of wine,” says Steve Webber, Chief Winemaker.
