Next week, the Wine Industry Impact Conference will be held in Adelaide to provide practical suggestions, ideas and examples for wine industry operators to improve their businesses.
The conference, which takes place on November 28 and 29, is themed “The Only Way is Up” and will address the issues facing the Australian wine industry. The first day will feature presentations from industry experts and motivational speakers, and the second day will be a road trip to various South Australian wineries.
Cameron Hills, Executive Officer of the Wine Industry Suppliers Association, encouraged industry professionals to attend.
“We urge all businesses in the wine sector to come along to the first day of the conference next Tuesday at the Adelaide Oval, where three international speakers and a host of local experts will address everything from distribution to cutting-edge marketing to managing people in times of change,” he said.
The conference will cover topics such as global wine trends, dealing with oversupply issues, using customer-facing AI tools and using the tech stack to manage the demographic ‘crisis’.
The keynote speaker will be Felicity Carter, wine journalist and co-founder of Europe-based Business of Drinks. Other speakers include Rabobank’s Pia Piggott, author of the Swimming in Wine report, Hamish Saxton of Hawke’s Bay Tourism and Andre Morgenthal of the South African Old Vine Project.
“We see a real opportunity for businesses in the wine industry to hear and discuss some of the options and new thinking that can make the most of the challenging times we face,” said Hills.
