Brown Family Wine Group (BFWG) has announced that CEO Dean Carroll will be leaving the company at the end of December after 16 years with the company, including eight years as CEO.
BFWG also said that following an extensive national and international search, Cameron MacFarlane has been appointed to take over the position.
Carroll said: “I’m leaving proud of what we’ve achieved during my tenure.
“Working for great people, with great people, on great brands with great products is an opportunity not everyone gets in their working life. I’m extremely grateful for the trust my family and the Board have placed in me, and for the invaluable support I’ve received from every colleague, customer and supplier I’ve had the pleasure to work with.”
MacFarlane brings 30 years’ experience to the role, with the last 23 years spent in FMCG and much of that time in the alcohol industry. BFWG described him as a highly accomplished professional who has worked with well-known Australian and international brands, including Nestle, Heinz, the Fosters Group family of brands, Bacardi and Tribe Breweries.
“I am delighted and feel privileged to be joining the exceptional team at Brown Family Wine Group,” said MacFarlane.
“BFWG is a pioneering force in the industry; a company with a rich history, an impressively strong brand portfolio, a talented team and an enviable reputation for innovation and culture.
“It is incredibly exciting to lead the company into its next phase of growth. I look forward to continuing the legacy of connection and trust with our employees, our valued customers and our consumers around the world.”
John Pollaers (OAM), Chairman of the Brown Family Wine Group, added: “We are delighted to have someone of Cameron’s caliber and expertise join our business.
“Throughout the recruitment process, Cameron has shown us that he is someone who places a high value on brands, people and performance, a true alignment with Brown Family Wine Group’s vision and values.”
