BMW presents hydrogen-powered iX5 at CIIE.
German premium carmaker BMW is showcasing its iX5 Hydrogen, among other models, at the China International Import Expo in Shanghai from Nov. 5-10.
This is the first time the Munich-based company has unveiled a hydrogen fuel cell model at the annual event, which it has attended for six consecutive years.
The iX5 Hydrogen has a maximum output of 295 kW and a WLTP range of 504 kilometers, according to BMW. Its hydrogen tank can be filled in three to four minutes, much less time than electric vehicles need to be fully charged.
BMW said it has tested hydrogen vehicles in many countries this year and their performance is good despite different geographical and weather conditions.
The automaker is also showcasing four other NEV models at the CIIE, which are the iX, the i7 M70L, the i4 and the XM Label Red.
China is BMW’s largest market in the world, and the German automaker also has world-leading manufacturing plants and state-of-the-art research facilities in the country.
BMW said it will further deepen its cooperation with local companies to promote Sino-German economic and technological cooperation and contribute to China’s high-quality growth.
