Frustrated passengers took to social media to express their displeasure as their flights from Pune airport were delayed due to heavy air traffic.
PUNE: Several flights from the Pune airport were delayed on Tuesday, especially night flights, with airlines citing “air traffic congestion” as the main reason.
Traveler Pramod Pathak wrote on his ‘X’ (earlier Twitter) account that an Indigo flight (flight 6E 284) from Pune to Lucknow was delayed on Tuesday, he said: “I assure you IndiGo6E, your flight will not be at 1.40 (scheduled departure) and will be revised again (sic).”
He then received a text message alert from the company, which read: “Dear passengers, your flight 6E 284, PNQ-LKO, PNR R1ECQA on November 7 has been delayed due to air traffic congestion. The new departure time is 15:25.”
However, the flight departed at 4 a.m.
Pathak further wrote: “IndiGo6E is just harassment, I think the airline wants me to do jagaran at Pune airport (sic)”.

Another passenger, Praphu Kumar, said: “SpiceJet should be changed to Delayjet. SG 948 Pune-Hyderabad, date November 7, flight time 1:20 am, delay over 5 hours. No alternative. Totally unethical. No manners. Passengers are suffering (sic).”
“Flights are delayed due to various reasons and it is necessary for airlines to make arrangements,” said a senior Airports Authority of India (AAI) official on condition of anonymity.
