Cos Bar has taken over the former Shen Beauty location in Brooklyn and plans to open its doors for the holiday season. The store will feature luxury beauty brands, marking Cos Bar’s entry into Brooklyn and its second location in New York City, the first being in downtown Manhattan since 2014.
Shen Beauty, which abruptly closed in August, was an established presence in Brooklyn’s beauty retail scene, known for pioneering clean beauty since its founding in 2010. However, the company has not commented on the closure or the upcoming opening of Cos Bar in its former location.
Cos Bar’s replacement of Shen Beauty is part of a broader movement of luxury retailers and wellness services setting up shop in Brooklyn, diversifying the borough’s retail landscape beyond its Manhattan-centric past. This includes recent openings by Chanel Beauty and others, reflecting Brooklyn’s growing appeal as a destination for high-end shopping and lifestyle brands.
