Canned cocktail producer Curatif has taken home the RTD Producer Trophy from the International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC) for the second year running, having won the inaugural RTD Producer title last year.
Several Australian producers were recognized in the RTD category with silver and bronze medals, with Curatif’s Archie Rose Espresso Martini the only Australian beverage to win a gold medal.
The Espresso Martini was praised by the IWSC judges as having a “gorgeously fragrant nose with big notes of roasted coffee beans, chocolate and vanilla. The palate is sumptuously indulgent with rich flavors of smooth cocoa and toasted tonka beans. An elegant, creamy mouthfeel with an equally sweet, luxurious finish.
Curatif follows in the footsteps of other Australian brands also recognized at the 2023 IWSC, after Four Pillars won the Gin Producer Trophy for a record-breaking third time and Grainshaker won the Vodka Producer Trophy. Curatif Managing Director Matt Sanger said of the achievement.
“If the IWSC is our industry’s version of the Oscars, then Curatif, Four Pillars and Grainshaker are Australia’s very own Hemsworth, Kidman and Jackman hitting the red carpet right now. I’ll leave it to you to decide who’s who!
“Who knows, maybe there should be a world’s best Four Pillars x Grainshaker x Curatif canned vesper in our collective future?”
“The Producer Trophies are the most prestigious awards at the IWSC, which is the world’s largest and most influential spirits awards with more than 4,000 entries from distilleries around the world in 2023,” added Paul McLeay, CEO of the Australian Distillers Association.
“Our spirits producers have once again proven that their products can compete with the very best and triumph on the world stage.”
