The Tata Curvv, set to be launched with a new name, is a highly anticipated SUV from Tata Motors. This new model will feature the brand’s latest design language, with a striking front fascia characterized by a prominent LED connecting bar on the sleek grille. The split headlamp assemblies with LED projectors add to the modern and stylish look of the Curvv. The electric variant of the Curvv will feature a solid front grille, similar to the recently launched Nexon EV.
The test mule of the Curvv showcased some differences compared to the concept presented at the Auto Expo 2023. It revealed unique alloy wheels, flush-type door handles, a high-set window line, and a sloping rear roofline. At the rear, the Curvv is expected to have slim LED taillights connected by a light bar.
Inside the Curvv, we can expect a range of impressive features. These include a 10.25-inch full-TFT instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a touch-sensitive panel for automatic air conditioning, six airbags as standard, and a panoramic sunroof.
In terms of powertrain options, the Curvv is likely to offer the Nexon’s 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine and 1.5-liter diesel engine as standard. There are also rumors of a new-generation 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine being available for higher trim levels. In its all-electric form, the Curvv will be based on Tata’s Gen 2 platform and may feature the battery and motor setup from the Nexon Long Range.
The production version of the Tata Curvv is expected to debut in the first half of 2024. It will enter a highly competitive segment, rivaling popular SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, and Citroen C3 Aircross. The electric variant of the Curvv will compete with models such as the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona EV.
