SK Chemicals has announced that it has signed a letter of intent with The Estee Lauder Companies to supply circular recycling solutions.
Under the agreement, SK Chemicals will supply its Ecotria CR, Skypet CR and Ecozen Claro materials to Lauder, who will develop sustainable packaging solutions from them.
The agreement enables the potential acceleration of the packaging sustainability movement using advanced recycling to chemically decompose waste plastic into monomers, helping to solve the ‘plastic problem’ in an innovative – and circular – way.
Ahn Jae-hyun, CEO of SK chemicals, said, “Through this agreement, we believe positive synergies can be created in both business and environmental aspects as SK chemicals partners with The Estée Lauder Companies. We will continue to work harder to create a sustainable cosmetics container ecosystem.”
