LG Energy Solution is preparing to enter the US market with its latest residential energy storage system. The enblock S batteries, which are stackable and modular lithium-ion batteries, will be available for purchase in November. Installation of the batteries is designed to be easy, featuring a plug-and-play connector and a quick installation time of just 15 minutes. Customers have the flexibility to stack three, four, or five battery module assemblies, allowing for increased energy capacity based on their consumption patterns. This is particularly useful as homeowners continue to electrify appliances and purchase electric vehicles, leading to a growing demand for energy storage solutions.
The enblock S system supports both wall-mounted and standing configurations, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. LG Energy Solution has ensured that the batteries meet stringent safety standards, successfully passing UL9540A testing to prevent thermal runaway fires. To further enhance their offering, LG plans to release the enblock S+ variant later this year. This variant will include the enblock S batteries bundled with their new AC-coupled inverter, which offers two configurations: backup power and energy arbitrage. Additionally, the LG Energy Solution Monitor app allows battery owners to track real-time energy consumption and production.
Matthew Unverferth, the residential ESS sales manager at LG Energy Solution, highlighted the versatility and ease of installation of the enblock S batteries. He emphasized the product’s compliance with safety standards and its UL9540A fire safety rating.
