Kia India has raised the price of the Seltos SUV in the country. The new price increase applies to specific Seltos variants and ranges up to Rs 30,000. In our market, the SUV received a mid-life upgrade in July, with prices beginning at Rs 10.89 lakh (ex-showroom). However, after two months, the company has upped the price of the SUV’s select versions.
Although the majority of the variants remain unaffected, the GTX Plus and X-Line versions in manual and automatic forms have seen a recent price hike of Rs 20,000 and Rs 30,000, respectively. The SUV is available in nine variations—HTE, HTK, HTK Plus, HTX, HTX Plus, GTX+ (S), GTX+, X-Line (S), and X-Line, and competes with the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, the Hyundai Creta, and other vehicles in India. Kia Seltos SUV Price Hike: A Quick Recap
The recent price increase follows the carmaker’s announcement last month that it will raise the prices of its two models, the Seltos and the Carens, by 2% in India. During that period, the automaker also revealed that, despite rising raw material costs, it kept its model prices unchanged after April. However, with the launch of the new Kia Seltos, the company chose to hike the price. It further revealed that the price increase will only affect the Seltos and the Carens. While the prices of the Sonet, Carnival, and EV6 will remain unaffected.
For those unaware, this is the second price increase for the two models this year; the Seltos and the Carens. The first price hike for these cars was implemented in April 2023, when the firm revised its range to meet the higher RDE (Real Driving Emission) requirements.
Kia Seltos SUV Price Hike: New Prices
The Kia Seltos SUV comes in nine variants: HTE, HTK, HTK Plus, HTX, HTX Plus, GTX+ (S), GTX+, X-Line (S), and X Line. However, the price hike has been implemented only on the GTX Plus and the X-Line models, which are offered with both manual and automatic transmission choices. The cost of the GTX Plus and X-Line manual and automatic models has increased by Rs 20,000 and Rs 30,000, respectively. As a result, the SUV now has a starting price of Rs 10.90 lakh for the base variant and a maximum price of Rs 20.30 lakh for the top-spec version. Both are ex-showroom figures.
