The Mahindra XUV.e8, one of the three upcoming electric SUVs from Mahindra, has been spotted during testing, unveiling some important insights about this highly anticipated vehicle. The XUV.e8, based on the existing XUV700, will feature several exterior and interior enhancements to give it a more modern and feature-rich appearance.
Despite being fully camouflaged, the test mule of the Mahindra XUV.e8 appears to be more developed than previous sightings. The SUV shares its body shell with the XUV700, including the bonnet, door panels, and fenders. However, it is expected to have a different front fascia and boot lid to differentiate it from the XUV700. LED headlights and tail lights will also be distinct to give the XUV.e8 a unique look.
The XUV.e8 is likely to feature flush door handles, curvy LED tail lamps, and specially designed 18-inch alloy wheels. Additionally, copper highlights will be added throughout the exterior to distinguish it from its internal combustion engine-powered counterpart.
Moving to the interior, spy shots reveal a three-screen layout on the dashboard, resembling the hyperscreen found in Mercedes-Benz electric vehicles and the Jeep Grand Cherokee. The steering wheel features a gloss black finish, similar to the recently launched Tata Nexon. The lower center console incorporates touch-sensitive buttons for climate control and other functions, along with a traditional automatic gear knob and a rounded knob for controlling drive modes.
Under the hood, the XUV.e8 will house an 80 kWh battery pack and an all-wheel drive configuration with a two-motor setup. The combined performance of the electric SUV is expected to be 230 PS and 350 Nm.
The XUV.e8 is scheduled for release by late 2024 and will compete with the Tata Harrier.EV.
With these exciting updates, the Mahindra XUV.e8 is set to make a splash in the electric SUV segment. Its sleek design, advanced features, and impressive performance make it a promising addition to the market.
