Third-party developers are continuing to enhance the experience of Microsoft Flight Simulator with the release of new airports. Flight Sim Development Group has already released Hurghada International Airport and now they are staying in Africa with the announcement of Djerba–Zarzis International Airport in Tunisia.
Djerba–Zarzis International Airport is one of the most important airports in the country, serving numerous airlines. While not much information has been provided, a single screenshot teases the upcoming release.
Low-End PC Studios has also joined in with the release of Coronel FAP Francisco Secada Vignetta International Airport, which serves Iquitos in Peru. This airport is particularly significant due to its location. Iquitos is the largest city in the world that cannot be reached by road, with access only available by air or river. It has a population of around half a million citizens. You can now purchase this airport on Simmarket for $12.39.
The developers have put effort into creating realistic airport experiences. Features such as project mesh for ground textures, PBR material for important objects, 3D objects, interior modeling of the terminal, custom runway elevation profiles, and animated objects are included in these airport releases.
Microsoft Flight Simulator is available on PC through Steam and the Windows Store, as well as on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Cloud Gaming. Game Pass subscribers can also access the game at no additional cost. To stay updated on the latest developments and news, TechRaptor provides daily updates on add-ons available for the simulator.
In addition to new airports, there are various interviews and reviews available for aviation enthusiasts. TechRaptor has published interviews with Jorg Neumann from Microsoft discussing the Antonov An-225 “Mriya” and iniBuilds CEO Ubaid Mussa, who discusses the activities of the well-known third-party developer. Reviews of airports such as Orbx’s Stockholm Arlanda and Oslo Gardermoen Airports, iniBuilds’ New York-JFK Airport, and RHDSimulations’ Boeing 767-300ER are also available for those looking for in-depth analysis.
