Ola Kaellenius, chairman and chief executive of luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz, said the group would launch a smaller G-series sport-utility (SUV) vehicle.
Mercedes-Benz’s G series has been launched for more than 40 years and is the group’s best-selling high-end car series in the United States, with prices starting from US$140,000. Kerlenz confirmed in an interview with CNBC during the Munich Motor Show that the group will launch a smaller model of the G series, but did not mention the specific time for the launch of the product.
Kerlenz agreed that G-series delivery times remain tight due to tight supply chains.
