An Air Canada Cargo flight operating on the transatlantic route between Halifax and Liege has declared an emergency and is currently on diversion.

Air Canada Cargo flight AC7222, a Boeing 767-300ER operating from Halifax (YHZ) to Liege (LGG) declared a general emergency, squawking code 7700 whilst in the cruise approaching the United Kingdom en route.
The flight is currently on descent and making good a diversion to London. The nature of the emergency which has warranted the unscheduled diversion is not yet known.
Flight AC7222 is currently descending through 6,000 feet and making an approach to London Heathrow (LHR).
Flight data shows the flight made a delayed departure out of Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ); showing an actual time of departure of 20:55 ADT. Scheduled departure time for the flight was listed as 19:15 ADT.
Flight data shows that the long haul flight climbed to cruising altitude FL310 (31,000 feet) for the transatlantic crossing, before declaring an emergency with squawk code 7700 as it approached the United Kingdom from the west, on track for Liege.
The flight subsequently landed at London Heathrow (LHR) just after 06:00 BST this morning.
