Vitters has successfully flipped the hull of its “zero fossil fuel” sailboat, Project 3094, also known as Project Zero. After an intense 11-month construction phase, the aluminum vessel has been shipped to Vitters shipyard in Zwartsluis, the Netherlands, marking the start of the next phase of outfitting work. Commissioned by Foundation⁰, Project Zero’s interior and exterior were designed by Vripack, while her naval architecture was built by Dykstra Naval Architects. The project is managed by MCM.
The ketch embodies a pioneering approach that aims to use no fossil fuels at all. It uses wind, thermal and solar energy to power the yacht and its facilities. Importantly, the innovative technologies underpinning the build will be available to the public domain, while the aesthetic integrity of the yacht will not be compromised by its energy harvesting mechanisms, ensuring an elegant appearance.
Project Zero is scheduled to be delivered in September 2025.
