With an estimated fortune of approximately $3.4 billion, Escalante found himself facing drug possession charges as he pleaded guilty to possessing small amounts of cocaine, ecstasy, and LSD. The incident unfolded in May of the previous year, and the entrepreneur made his appearance at Melbourne Magistrates Court to address the charges.

Despite such claims, a subsequent search revealed a zip-lock bag with cocaine, a single ecstasy pill, and a small vial containing LSD. Escalante maintained that he was unaware of the LSD’s presence, asserting that the rest of the substances were mere remnants from his jeans.
