Summer may not be over, but the announcement of Spring 2024 shows in New York makes the season feel fleeting.
On Tuesday, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) released the preliminary schedule for New York Fashion Week, which will run from Sept. 8 through Sept. 13. There are more than 71 designers on the list, including staples like Christian Siriano, Collina Strada, Brandon Maxwell, Sergio Hudson and Michael Kors. (Coach will show slightly off calendar, on the eve of New York Fashion Week.) Ralph Lauren, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Jonathan Cohen will be returning to the lineup after a few seasons away; Helmut Lang (with its Peter Do debut) and Luar will open and close the week, respectively.
As for first-timers, we’ve got Advisry, Chan Chit Lo, Fforme, Grace Ling and Sho Konishi making their schedule debuts. And just as last year, all of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists — Tanner Fletcher, Zankov, Sami Miró Vintage, Colin LoCascio, Diotima, Kim Shui, Kozaburo, Melitta Baumeister and Who Decides War — will have showcases throughout the week.
“New York Fashion Week is an integral part of New York City’s vibrant culture and sense of constant evolution and discovery. This season’s official New York Fashion Week schedule plays to this sentiment and will once again showcase the best of American fashion, both emerging and established,” Steven Kolb, CEO of the CFDA, said, in a statement. “We’re excited to see the return of Ralph Lauren, Jonathan Cohen and 3.1 Phillip Lim to the New York runway, adding to the week’s energy.”
